About

My name is John DeVore, and I am an Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Student at the University of Kansas.

Right now, I am interested in sedimentation, and so I built this website with the hopes of transferring it over to my other domain, sedimetrix.com.

Sedimetrix is my idea for a business that is designed to analyze data regarding sediment, and provide insights into how that sediment can be managed.

Currently, I am working on research with Dr. John Shelley on the current Water-Injection-Dredging taking place here in Kansas at Tuttle Creek Reservoir.

In the future, it is my hope that I can make use of Dr. Shelley’s extensive subject matter expertise to serve as a technical advisor to my entrepenurial efforts.

I also hope to partner with other KU students, such as someone who is more technically inclined and able to build a machine learning model to analyze sediment, as well as someone who is perhaps more versed in the business side of things. Myself, I hope to bring in my engineering knowledge on sediment – I see myself helping develop the end software product by informing the functions and goals.

Please let me know if you fit this description and are interested.

I look forward to the construction of the $10M business entrepeneurship hub to be built on KU’s campus, and as a student with business dreams I hope to leverage these resources at my disposal to make those dreams come true.
